Arhh, it was a fun morning.We got to the race village at around 5am'ish.  It was a overcast morning, but still dry. Around 17 degree. It was all very fun. First marathon, wow. It was a big experience. Well I finished it. I ran all the way (i.e. didn't give up and walk) and I survived. That was goal number one. I got 3:57! Today we'd train on the path underneth the Story Bridge, with 8 x 1 min efforts, with 30 sec standing recovery.  I love this one too (even though there is stopping involved). This time around it was 6 x 500m efforts.  As usual, I messed up with the lapping/pausing of my watch. So I'm not 100% sure on the splits. Still, I can work out that the overall average time for each split was 2:04. The K2D event is a 50km solo race, or a 25km relay race.  Kurrawa is in Broadbeach.  Duranbah is in Tweed Head, NSW.  I couldn't find a route map on the K2D website here.So I took the description on the K2D site and pegged it out on the Gmaps Pedometer web site. Mt Coot-tha squared.  Today, either 15km or 25km.I drove to the Regatta nice and early.   From here I ran off to Mt Coot-tha (about 2.5km to get to the base). I used to run at lunchtime often.  I've not done it for a while.  I took along the water bottle and headed off from Geebung.  The plan was to go for around one hour.  That's how long lunch should be, right?.  I got to Nundah around the half way point.  I've never gotten this far away from work during a lunch run.
